The Catalyst Club of the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT Sri Lanka) proudly presents Kagura 2025, an inter-university film competition launched on 17, December 2024, at the APIIT School of Foundation Studies, Access Towers II.
The opening ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Mr. Bandula Egodage, Chairman of APIIT Sri Lanka, marks the beginning of an exciting journey.
Under this year's theme, "Social Issues," Kagura 2025 aims to empower undergraduate filmmakers to address critical societal challenges bringing to life their own fresh perspectives through innovative storytelling.
Kagura 2025 aspires to be more than a competition; it aims to be a social movement by APIIT Sri Lanka to nurture the next generation of filmmakers who will revolutionise the Sri Lankan film industry. By inspiring young talent to tell powerful, socially relevant stories, the event will spark important conversations and be a catalyst for change in both art and society.
APIIT Sri Lanka is a higher education institution that operates in partnership with University of Staffordshire, UK and NCUK, a pathway provider to over 60 universities around the globe. APIIT Sri Lanka also has partnerships with Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia and Southern Cross University, Australia.
APIIT Sri Lanka has to-date, turned out nearly 6000 graduates who have completed their University of Staffordshire awards in Computing, Business and Law in Sri Lanka, making a considerable contribution to the human capital development of the country.
