The LLM International Business Law degree — a Master of Laws (LLM) qualification — is awarded by Staffordshire University, UK. This advanced LLM law programme can be completed in one year, making it one of the most accessible legal master’s degrees for working professionals. The LLM degree is designed to enable LLB graduates and legal practitioners to gain specialist expertise in business law, enhance their legal research skills, and study legal issues from a global perspective. As a masters in law degree, this LLM Master of Laws programme will prepare students to pursue rewarding careers in business and law, or to advance further with additional postgraduate legal masters programs.
During the first and second terms of this LLM law degree, you will study three core modules and a number of optional modules based on your interests and career aspirations. In the final term of the LLM program, you will undertake a dissertation on a business law topic of your choice. Teaching and learning is delivered through interactive lectures and seminars. The problem-based approach to this master LLM programme ensures a strong focus on independent learning and research, equipping graduates with the analytical depth expected of holders of an LLM law degree.

At APIIT, once you register in the respective degree programme also known as award, you can view the description, content, objectives, learning outcomes, assessment method, teaching hours and other details of each module via Module descriptors in different academic levels.
During the orientation programme, we provide you details of all academic support mechanisms and guidelines. When you have doubts about your module details, you can meet the relevant Module Lecturer or Level Administrators (one staff member of Academic Administration assigned to your batch) to clear your doubts.
Support for repeat exams: If you have repeat modules, you need to meet your Level Administrator in the Academic Administration to register for repeat modules. Academic support is available for your repeats and re-sits at all times and you can always < a href= "http://www.lms.apiit.lk/">contact your teaching faculty. Mental Wellbeing and Counselling Services
APIIT Student Support, Counselling and Wellbeing Services provide you information and guidance on mental wellbeing matters needing support. Our counselling services provide an opportunity to talk to someone in a confidential and non-judgmental setting, enabling you to find ways of managing or overcoming your difficulties. Psychotherapy services support you to find a healing through non-medicative non-invasive therapies, allowing you to fulfill your potential in your studies and enjoy your time at the university.
With APIIT mental wellbeing and counselling team, help yourself identify possible wellbeing deteriorations and the help available, support yourself to manage an ongoing psychological challenges while you are in the university and provide yourself a platform to talk to someone with confidentiality.

1st Semester. Students complete three core modules: Research Methods, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and International Trade Law.
2nd Semester. Students choose three of the four optional modules on offer: Contemporary Company Law, Intellectual Property Law, Information Technology Law, and International Labour Law. Optional modules are subject to availability.
3rd Semester. Students complete the programme by undertaking their Final Dissertation on a business law topic of their choice.
Holders of this LLM law degree who have already commenced their legal careers will be able to develop a specialisation in Business Law, Employment Law, Information Technology Law, or Intellectual Property Law and significantly advance their careers. The master of laws (LLM) qualification opens doors to roles as legal executives in the corporate sector, legal researchers, academics, or human resource executives. This masters in law is also a gateway to further postgraduate legal masters programs, making it one of the most versatile and career-relevant LLM programs available in Sri Lanka.
