Law Foundation

Programme Overview

The APIIT Sri Lanka Law Foundation programme is an APIIT award approved by the University of Staffordshire, UK, and serves as the recognised entry qualification for University of Staffordshire Law degree programmes offered at APIIT, including the LLB Law with Foundation Year pathway.

Designed for students with GCE O/L qualifications who are not pursuing GCE A/L studies, or whose A/L results do not yet meet direct entry requirements, this programme offers a structured and purposeful route into undergraduate legal study.

Students are introduced to the field of law through its foundations, legal history, analytical frameworks, and real-world application, while simultaneously developing numeracy, digital literacy, communication skills, and professional ethics. The programme builds the academic rigour and critical thinking that define a career in law.

On successful completion, students are fully prepared to enter the University of Staffordshire Law degree programmes and pursue recognised awards in Law.

This approach develops knowledge and competency across legal systems, digital literacy, analytical reasoning, numeracy, communication, and ethics.

Students are trained to work both collaboratively and independently, preparing them for the demands of degree-level legal study. The programme emphasises practical application alongside theoretical understanding, so students arrive at their degree with both the confidence and capability to succeed.
