Senior Lecturer in English – Grade II

Ms. Shalini Kaduwela graduated from University of Peradeniya, and she worked for 3 years at the English Language Teaching Unit of the same university. She joined APIIT afterwards and has been teaching there since 2014. She holds a Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at the Postgraduate Institute of English, Open University of Sri Lanka. She is currently reading for her doctoral programme at the Faculty of Graduate Studies at University of Colombo. She is a motivated and a qualified educator in teaching English Language for the undergraduates in the fields of EAP (English for Academic Purposes), ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and EGP (English for General Purposes). She is very passionate about Second Language teaching and learning and developing the communication skills of the undergraduates. Her research interests are academic writing, second language teaching and learning, sociolinguistic aspects of second language acquisition and education management.
